Not that this isn’t funny — it is — but I feel like you get to make fun of twitter or slavishly imitate their site layout and formatting. Not both.

I disagree. This is what happens when they are trying more and more to present themselves as "twitter but better." This is just another step in the journey of trying to become Twitter 2, by mocking Twitter 1. They have no interest in preserving the current community and just want to pull in new users from Twitter because social media companies operate with an inherent desire for self-destruction in the hopeless journey for constant growth. The mocking checkmarks, the genuine UI shift to copy Twitter, the increasing interest in algorithms... it's all the same thing.

Have you guys been seeing that tumblr is showing other users' likes on the dash now? Because that just started for me.

stop. its ok. you don’t need to do these things. just focus on functionality(like the video player). we don’t need these little updates when somethings(like the video player) need your focus. thank you for your time but really, tumblr looks great. try to fix more important things(like the video player) so that we can all properly enjoy the features of tumblr(like the video player)
